School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:
- sports carnivals
- open day and school tours
- Harmony Week and Book Week events
- excursions and incursions
- performances, concerts or school productions
- fundraising, charity and community events
- award assemblies
- graduation and other celebrations.

Book Week
Date: Term 3 - August 19th
This year's theme, 'Book an Adventure', invites young readers to to travel through the worlds that books open up.
Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character, to celebrate the week and share the wonderful journeys stories can take us on
Stage 3 Camp
Date: Term 3
Year 5 and 6 set off to the Great Aussie Bush Camp for half a week and got straight to work.
They enjoyed various activities including: fencing, canoeing, archery, a high ropes course and held their own county fair!
Education Week
Date: Term 3 - August 3rd-August 8th
During Education Week parents and carers were invited to view Tyalla's classrooms and sit down for a picnic lunch.
To celebrate 100 days at school, kindergarteners also dressed up in their best impression of 100 year olds.
Athletics Carnival
Date: Term 2 - 25th June
Students compete in their school houses in various track and field events.
Parents and carers are encouraged to come and cheer on!
NAIDOC Week
Date: Term 2 - June 30th-July 4th
Students celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with engagement and pride in the 50th NAIDOC Week.
During the week students engaged with members of the community and took part in activities and games.
ANZAC Day Assembly
Date: Term 1 - April 10th
At Tyalla we commemorated the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign.
Our Staff and Student Leaderships team highlighted the importance of the event and of what has happened since.
Easter Hat Parade
Date: Term 1 - April 9th
The Easter Hat Parade is a great opportunity for Tyalla students to show their creative and colourful hat designs to the local community. A fun end to the first Term back at school!
Harmony Day
Date: Term 1 - March 21st
Harmony Day is for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.
At Tyalla we recognise that our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is at the heart of who we are.
